July

I had a long weekend off from work at the beginning of this month, which helped kick start this month of crafting.

After I finished my diamond granny square blanket I was left feeling a little unenthused. so my wonderful husband sent me to the wool shop, where I found lovely fluffy wool in blue and purple. It was so lovely I thought it would make a snuggly lap blanket. I kept it simple by alternating colours in a straightforward granny square pattern. It grew super fast. I'm not used to working in super chunky wool, it was so rewarding and enthused me greatly. I finished it in under a day!

I loved using the chunk wool so much I started on a project I'd been putting, My shark footstool, I bought this fluffy teddy bear wool in light blue and grey. The original pattern asked for arm knitting wool but that stuff is expensive, so instead of buying loads of wool, my shark became the size of a football, but no less cute. It was an easy pattern and made up really quickly, it also took me less than a day to make up!

After I finished Snuggly the shark, I got all the chunky wool out of the stash and decided to use it to make hats and scarves. I made two cute Berets; one child size and one adult, out of the remaining wool from the shell blanket I made back in January. The simple patten worked really well with the thick wool. I ran out of the blue-grey wool so I finished it off with the bobbly mermaid wool, which looks really nice, and like it is an intentional hatband.

I ran out of wool for another project and when shopping in the sale section and found this odd wool, named 'Sea breeze' or something like that and need to have it. In fairness, I thought it would make a nice scarf. unfortunately, 50g is not enough to make a full-length adult scarf, but just perfect for child size. my original idea was for it to be plain trebles, but I got bored so I changed it to trios of trebles.

I had a lovely video call craft section with my mum, where she showed me step by set how to make a concertina face mask. I had this beautiful green heart fabric which I had been dying to do something with. but I cut it the wrong way and now I have sideways harts. It still looks cute and I will know for the next time.

Honourable mentions
Circle in a square granny square scarf/ shawl - its a simple granny square I found in a magazine not sure what I'm going to do with them when I've made them, I keep gravitating between a scarf and a shawl.

Trapper Hat- another cute pattern from a magazine, I tried hard and followed the pattern, made the outside of the hat, but then a found out I had to do in all again for the inside I gave up.
