Welcome to another wonderful year of crafting. This is going to be a list of all the things I make throughout the year so I can look back at the end of the year and feel accomplished. With the mission statement over and done with let us begin with January crafts.

The first project I finished this year, was this beautifully snug shell patterned lap blanket. I inherited a whole range of craft supplies from my aunty who past last year. This chunky moe hair and rainbow wool were one of the things I inherited. The beautiful Mermaid colors inspired me to make a sea shell patterned blanket. I was going to use Picot pattern because the pattern is so lovely, but it's so wool intensive and I only had a limited amount of wool, I went for a more traditional shell design. As you can see I still ran out of wool, so it's a Knee or kids blanket. The moe hair makes it so lovely and soft and warm I hope it goes to a loving home, thanks to Loving Hands where I send all of my crafts that need a good home.

One of the major reasons I haven't finished many craft this month is I GOT MARRIED, it was such a lovely day surrounded by friends and family. I filled my time with the projects for the main occasions, a jewelry bouquet, and a corset. Right, the corset I don't really want to go into details but if you have big boobs and ever had to get into a low cut dress you with know the nightmare my wonderful mum and I had to get it to fit. The main fun I had was with the jewelry bouquet, instead of flowers I had an orb on a stick decorated with sparkly metals and pearls. I was having trouble getting all the bits for the wedding tradition of 'something new, something old, something borrowed something blue'. My dress was new and my shoes blue, but for the old and borrowed I turn to my friends, who very kindly lent me their costume jewelry.  Thank you again and I will return them to you when I see you next. My first plan for how to turn a polystyrene ball into a bouquet was to use wire as the handle and spear the ball with the wire, but it squeaked terribly. My wonderful husband saved the day and our ears by gluing a length of dowel to it for a handle and suggested I cover the ball in a piece of fabric so that I could sew the jewelry to the cover rather than trying to spear into the polystyrene. you can't really see but I used an ivory fabric under some lace which I inherited from my Nana. the rest was the creative placement of the jewelry and silk flower I bort for the project.

Komo Baby

Jane was kind enough to buy me a crochet pattern I wanted but was too stubborn to pay money for as a Christmas gift. I thought a dress-up doll would be cute to make and I love the style of these kinds of dolls. The pattern uses 4pl yarn with is smaller than I am used too and the doll has made up a lot smaller than I am used too, but I am having fun figuring things out.

T-shirt Yarn
I make a ball of T-shirt yarn out of one of my old work T-shirts, it was so cathartic to be able to cut it up, I highly recommend it. I have plans to turn it in to crochet it into a bathroom bin but that's a project for another time.
